Recent polling indicates a sharp reversal in Latino voter preferences since 2024, with Democrats holding substantial leads on the generic congressional ballot among Hispanic registered voters in battleground states and nationally. This positioning stems primarily from widespread dissatisfaction with the Trump administration's handling of inflation, cost of living pressures, and immigration enforcement, reflected in approval ratings for the president falling into the low 20s to mid-30s range among the group. Multiple September surveys, including those from NYT/Siena and bipartisan firms, show Democratic advantages of 25 to 35 points on the ballot question, consistent with broader trends in competitive House districts. While a gender gap persists—with younger Latino men sometimes showing slower shifts than Latinas on issues like immigrant community protections—the overall data points to Democrats regaining ground across subgroups ahead of the November midterms. Trader consensus appears to incorporate these developments and the limited remaining time for major reversals before Election Day.
