Lamar Jackson enters the 2026 NFL season fully healthy after a 2025 campaign limited by hamstring, back, and other ailments that restricted him to 349 rushing yards and just 67 carries across 13 games. In Week 1 against the Colts, the Ravens quarterback posted seven rushes for 40 yards and a touchdown while displaying his usual explosiveness. A new offensive coordinator in Declan Doyle is implementing more motion, play-action, and under-center concepts that could alter designed runs and scramble opportunities behind an offensive line facing uncertainty at center and with left tackle Ronnie Stanley managing a toe issue. Running back Derrick Henry continues to handle a heavy workload, potentially capping Jackson’s designed carries, though Jackson has stated he will run as needed to win. The Ravens’ Week 2 matchup against the Saints offers an early test of his usage in the revamped scheme.
