Jonathan Taylor enters the 2026 season with a fresh two-year, $44 million extension securing his role as the Colts' lead back through 2028. After rushing for 1,585 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2025, he opened 2026 with 98 yards and two scores on 19 carries in Week 1 despite a lopsided loss to Baltimore. Quarterback Daniel Jones returns from Achilles surgery, but the offense lost key contributors like Michael Pittman Jr. and Braden Smith, raising questions about efficiency and goal-line opportunities. Taylor has shouldered an elite workload with limited proven depth behind him, though his history of ankle issues and the demanding early schedule, including a Week 2 trip to Kansas City, could influence his season-long rushing total. Trader consensus reflects these variables in the implied probabilities for various yardage thresholds.
