Grant Forrest holds a commanding position as second-round leader at the Open de España after posting rounds of 66-67 for a nine-under total of 133 at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, one stroke clear of Joel Girrbach and Connor Syme. The Scot, tied for the lead after an opening 66, maintained momentum with steady ball-striking and key birdies on the back nine despite an early bogey, building on prior strong showings including two prior third-place finishes at the event. Nearest pursuers posted lower scores on Friday, while home players like Sergio Garcia faded. With rounds complete, only an official scoring adjustment or rare administrative issue would realistically alter the outcome before resolution.
