Rockstar's official June 2026 announcement set the GTA 6 standard edition at $79.99 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, directly resolving months of speculation that the base game might reach or exceed $100. This pricing aligns with Take-Two's emphasis on delivering perceived value without alienating fans, following heavy investment in the title's scale and single-player focus at the November 19 launch. Pre-order data and industry tracking show strong demand at the $80 tier, mirroring recent $80 precedents like certain Nintendo Switch 2 titles while avoiding broader backlash. The 98% market-implied odds reflect this confirmed structure, though minor upside risk remains if Rockstar adjusts regional pricing, bundles, or post-launch editions in ways that effectively push some buyers over the threshold before release.
