The FED interest rates are defined in this market by the lower or the upper bound of the target federal funds range. The decisions on the target federal fund range are made by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the lower or the upper bound of the target federal funds rate reaches the specified level at any point by December 31, 2026, 12:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” Emergency rate cuts and hikes outside the regularly scheduled meetings will be considered. The resolution source for this market is the official website of the Federal Reserve at: https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/openmarket.htm. This market may resolve as soon as the relevant data showing the reached level is published. The federal funds rate target range has remained at 3.50%-3.75% since early 2026 after prior cuts, with the FOMC holding steady at its July 29 meeting by a 9-3 vote amid elevated inflation above the 2% goal, partly due to energy supply shocks from Middle East tensions. Recent data show solid economic expansion, stable unemployment, and strong productivity, yet incoming CPI readings and labor reports will shape the September 15-16 FOMC decision, where economist polls indicate a majority favor another hold through year-end while a growing minority anticipate at least one 25-basis-point hike. Market-implied odds reflect this uncertainty, with Treasury yields and volatility measures sensitive to any shift in the Fed's dot plot or guidance on monetary policy tightening.
