Early in the 2026 NFL season, the market for the team leading in special teams and defensive touchdowns remains fragmented, with "Other" and several anonymous options clustered near 50% implied probability while no single franchise exceeds single-digit odds. Special teams and defensive scores—return touchdowns, pick-sixes, and fumble recoveries—occur infrequently and fluctuate sharply week to week, preventing any early separation. Recent Week 1 and 2 results show scattered production from units like the Steelers, Bengals, and Jaguars, but small sample sizes and roster turnover in return games and coverage units keep outcomes highly variable. Historical patterns confirm these categories rarely feature repeat leaders, sustaining broad trader consensus around a wide-open field.
