The 2026 Categoría Primera B season features a split Apertura-Clausura format with promotion at stake via tournament wins or the overall reclasificación table, leaving multiple viable paths for contenders. Early Clausura results show a bunched pack, with Patriotas Boyacá, Real Cundinamarca, Tigres F.C., Atlético F.C., and Real Cartagena posting strong starts alongside Independiente Valle del Cauca, while Apertura standouts like Inter de Palmira and Envigado F.C. carry momentum from the first half despite recent coaching shifts at Envigado. No side has pulled clear after the opening weeks, and the 16-team field’s depth—bolstered by historical promotion contenders such as Unión Magdalena, Deportes Quindío, and Boca Juniors de Cali—keeps implied probabilities clustered as traders price in the long runway of matches, potential playoff volatility, and absence of a clear frontrunner.
