Recent polls show the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead near 29-30% ahead of the October 5 vote, while the Coalition Avenir Québec has climbed to around 24% in the latest surveys, narrowing the gap with the Parti Libéral du Québec at roughly 22%. This momentum for the CAQ, driven by gains among francophone voters outside Montreal and regional strength in the Quebec City area, underpins trader consensus on its position for second place. Key campaign issues including cost of living, U.S. trade concerns, and the PQ's referendum plans have kept the contest volatile, with the Liberals retaining strength in urban anglophone and allophone ridings but losing ground overall. Seat projections indicate a fragmented National Assembly, where CAQ vote efficiency could secure second place despite trailing in the popular vote.
