Official National Weather Service observations from Austin-area stations, including Bergstrom International Airport, recorded a daily maximum of 98–99°F on September 21, 2026, under partly cloudy skies with light easterly winds and minimal afternoon convection. This aligns with the market’s 100% consensus on that bin, reflecting verified surface data amid an unusually hot September that featured multiple triple-digit days earlier in the month. Model guidance and climatological baselines (normal high near 90°F) had anticipated values in this range, with no significant heat burst or measurement revision emerging to alter the outcome. Only an undocumented station anomaly or post-hoc quality-control adjustment could realistically shift the final reading outside 98–99°F.
