Drake Maye’s established mobility and red-zone usage shape expectations for his 2026 regular-season rushing touchdowns. In 2025 he posted 450 rushing yards and four scores on 103 carries while leading QBs in scramble rate, frequently converting designed boots and scrambles near the goal line under coordinator Josh McDaniels. The Patriots added A.J. Brown and reinforced the offensive line to create more favorable run-game situations, yet Week 1 produced seven carries for 47 yards and zero touchdowns in a 13-10 loss to Seattle amid three costly interceptions and an ankle injury to Brown. A tougher schedule, emphasis on protecting the franchise quarterback, and ongoing run-game inefficiencies could limit goal-line opportunities, while continued high scramble volume and improved weapons offer paths to repeat or exceed prior production.
