Celtic and Rangers enter the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership campaign as the clear frontrunners in trader pricing, each hovering near even implied probability, reflecting their historical Old Firm dominance and substantial squad investments. Last season's narrow Celtic title win over Hearts, followed by Rangers finishing third, highlighted growing competitiveness, with multiple sides now boasting reinforced squads under new management including Derek McInnes at Ibrox and Martin O'Neill's return at Celtic. Early-season results show Celtic maintaining a perfect record while Rangers build momentum through recent wins, yet widespread summer transfers, European commitments, and fixture congestion introduce variability that prevents any side from pulling away decisively in market sentiment. Hearts and several mid-table clubs retain realistic pathways through strong starts and squad depth, sustaining the bunched pricing across the field.
