Dalton Eatherly, known online as Chud the Builder, faces attempted first-degree murder and related firearm charges stemming from a May 13, 2026, shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee. Authorities allege he fired multiple shots at Joshua Fox during an altercation, while Eatherly has maintained he acted in self-defense after being confronted. The case remains in pretrial proceedings, with the matter bound over to a grand jury and no trial date set as of early September. Tennessee’s stand-your-ground provisions, combined with Eatherly’s public claims captured on livestream and the absence of a completed prosecution, have shaped trader views that a conviction remains unlikely in the near term. Bond adjustments, separate misdemeanor matters, and ongoing legal motions have not altered the core status of the primary charges.
