Recent polls ahead of the September 20 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election show a tight contest among the top parties, with Die Linke often edging the CDU for first place at roughly 20-23 percent, followed by the AfD at 17-18 percent. This positioning has strengthened trader consensus around the AfD for third place, reflecting its consistent polling slot and gains since the 2023 repeat election. The CDU and Linke remain the primary contenders for the top two spots, while smaller parties like the Greens, SPD, BSW, and FDP trail further back and face higher barriers to entering parliament under the five-percent threshold. A recent bribery investigation involving the SPD lead candidate adds uncertainty to lower rankings, though the overall field has remained stable in the final weeks.
