Aaron Jones enters the 2026 NFL season as the Minnesota Vikings’ lead back in a timeshare with Jordan Mason, following a restructured one-year deal that lowered his base salary. At age 31, Jones dealt with multiple injuries in 2025—including hamstring, hip, and shoulder issues—that limited him to 12 games and 548 rushing yards on 132 carries. Recent training camp and preseason depth charts list the pair as co-starters, with Jones projected for a reduced early-down role and primary receiving-down work. Historical performance shows declining explosiveness and yards after contact, while the Vikings’ offense faces a tough early schedule. These factors shape trader views on his season-long rushing total amid typical veteran back durability concerns.
