Switzerland’s November 29, 2026, ballot features four federal measures: a parliamentary decree raising VAT to fund expanded AVS old-age pension payments, a popular initiative limiting fireworks sales and use, a Centre Party initiative ending the federal tax disadvantage for married couples, and an amendment relaxing restrictions on war material exports to certain partner states even during conflicts. Trader positioning has converged on the war material amendment as the frontrunner, reflecting its parliamentary origin, alignment with shifting neutrality debates amid European security concerns, and relatively lower organized opposition compared with the tax or fireworks proposals. The VAT funding measure follows closely, supported by pension system pressures, while the two initiatives face higher hurdles typical of popular proposals requiring double majorities. No major new campaign developments have altered this ordering in recent weeks.
