Eli Savit holds a strong lead in trader pricing for the open Michigan attorney general seat, reflecting consensus on Democratic advantages in the state heading into the November 2026 general election. Both major-party nominees—Savit, the Washtenaw County prosecutor, and Republican Doug Lloyd, the Eaton County prosecutor—were selected at their respective party conventions in August after earlier endorsement processes. A late August/early September poll showed the race statistically tied at 36% to 35% with nearly 29% undecided, underscoring low name recognition and the likelihood that the contest will track the top of the ticket. The same survey found Democrat Jocelyn Benson leading Republican John James by four points in the gubernatorial race, providing a potential coattail effect that traders appear to price in for Savit. Minor-party candidates and write-ins remain priced at even odds, consistent with historical performance in statewide races.
