Persistent southerly flow and a warm, moist air mass are keeping overnight lows in Dallas elevated well above the September climatological average of 72°F. Official National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model consensus point to a Thursday night minimum near 80–83°F, with only limited radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies and a 30–40% chance of evening thunderstorms. Recent days have featured record or near-record highs above 100°F and dew points in the upper 60s, suppressing temperature drops, while the absence of a reinforcing cold front maintains the warm advection pattern. These conditions explain why the 78–83°F range commands the bulk of market-implied probability, with traders closely monitoring the next NWS forecast update and any shifts in steering winds that could allow slightly greater overnight cooling.
