Sarah Trone Garriott holds a clear edge in trader consensus for Iowa’s 3rd congressional district, reflecting the seat’s toss-up rating from multiple forecasters and its history of narrow margins in recent cycles. The Democrat’s slight fundraising lead, experience flipping and holding competitive state senate districts, and emphasis on health care access and Medicaid funding have supported her positioning ahead of the November general election. Incumbent Zach Nunn’s military background and focus on adoption and parental issues provide counter-messaging, while ongoing attack ads on social policy differences highlight the race’s cultural flashpoints. With both candidates emerging unopposed from June primaries, the outcome remains sensitive to turnout in suburban Des Moines and any late shifts in the national environment.
