**India and Pakistan maintain a fragile post-conflict equilibrium following the May 2025 Pahalgam attack and India's Operation Sindoor airstrikes on terror infrastructure, which prompted Pakistani retaliation and a brief escalation before a May 10 ceasefire.** The Line of Control has seen limited violations since, supported by regular DGMO hotline contacts, while broader diplomacy remains frozen amid disputes over the suspended Indus Waters Treaty, cross-border militancy allegations, and mutual accusations of proxy activity. Both nations continue military modernization, including drone and air-defense acquisitions, but no major new Indian strikes on Pakistani territory have occurred. Trader consensus on the likelihood of an Indian drone, missile, or airstrike by late 2026 reflects these restrained conditions alongside persistent risks from terrorism incidents or water-related rhetoric, with scheduled regional summits and potential militant activity as key variables that could shift probabilities.

For the purposes of this market, a qualifying "strike" is defined as the use of aerial bombs, drones, or missiles (including cruise or ballistic missiles) launched by Indian military forces that impact Pakistani territory (e.g., if an Indian missile or drone hits a target within Pakistan’s borders, this market will resolve to "Yes").
Missiles or drones that are intercepted before reaching Pakistani territory, as well as surface-to-air missile strikes, will not be sufficient for a "Yes" resolution regardless of whether debris lands on Pakistani soil or causes damage.
Actions such as artillery fire, small arms fire, FPV or ATGM strikes, ground incursions, naval shelling, cyberattacks, or any operation conducted by Indian ground forces will not qualify as a strike under this market.
The resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting.
