**Alaska voters face Ballot Measure 2 on November 3, 2026, which would eliminate the top-four open primary and ranked-choice voting system adopted in 2020 while also repealing associated campaign finance disclosure rules.** A similar repeal initiative failed narrowly in 2024 by 737 votes. Opposition groups have raised over $5.5 million compared to roughly $750,000–$1.1 million for supporters, with significant outside funding on both sides. Court rulings largely upheld the ballot language with one minor adjustment regarding gubernatorial tickets. The combination of the measure’s broader scope, funding disparity favoring retention, and the recent narrow precedent supports the current trader consensus that the repeal is unlikely to pass.
