The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast on September 14 at the Peacock Theater features numerous winners and presenters handling the heavy statuettes live on stage, creating a narrow edge for “No” at 53.3% amid the contest. Recent history shows rare on-stage drops during the main ceremony, though off-stage incidents like Cristin Milioti’s 2025 afterparty tumble highlight the trophy’s awkward shape and potential for slips from excitement, heels, or nerves. Streamlined categories this year and professional stage management reduce exposure, yet the live format and packed presenter lineup—including high-profile names like Zendaya and Jon Hamm—keep upset scenarios viable. The final days of rehearsals and red-carpet energy will likely determine whether any momentum shifts before the broadcast.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if any presenter or winner drops an Emmy statuette on stage during the live broadcast of the ceremony. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
For the purposes of this market, a "drop" means the statuette unintentionally leaves the holder's hands entirely and makes contact with the floor or stage surface. Bobbling, slipping fingers, or briefly losing grip without the statuette falling out of the hand and hitting the ground will not qualify.
Drops occurring backstage, at the Governors Ball, or at any other afterparty or secondary event which is not part of the televised ceremony will not be considered.
If the ceremony is canceled or postponed beyond September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".
The resolution source for this market will be the official broadcast of the ceremony.
