Sindarov leads trader consensus at 70% implied probability for the 2026 World Chess Championship after his dominant 10/14 Candidates victory in Cyprus, the highest score in the current format, which secured his challenge against defending champion Gukesh. The 20-year-old Uzbek grandmaster enters with peak form, a career-high rating near 2778, and recent classical wins including against elite opposition in the Global Chess League. Gukesh, at 29.5%, holds match experience from his 2024 title win but faces headwinds from a prolonged 2026 slump, including bottom finishes in events like Norway Chess and Prague, rating losses exceeding 40 points, and exits from top-10 rankings. The November-December Geneva match pits the rising challenger's momentum against the champion's bid to stabilize form in a best-of-14 classical format.
