Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream leads the 2026 WNBA steals-per-game race at approximately 2.3 per game across 39 contests, well ahead of teammate Jordin Canada and others clustered near 1.7–1.9. Her consistent defensive activity, high minutes load near 34.6 per game, and elevated steal rate have created a durable edge that trader consensus reflects in her dominant implied probability. Recent leaderboards confirm Howard’s total steals also top the charts, supported by Atlanta’s defensive opportunities and her All-Defensive pedigree. Late-season factors such as minor injuries, rest decisions in the final weeks, or an improbable surge from a challenger could still narrow the gap before the September 24 resolution, though the current margin leaves limited realistic paths for overtaking.
