Recent polling shows young men (ages 18-29) remain volatile heading into the 2026 midterms, with economic priorities such as inflation, housing costs, and job prospects driving preferences amid lingering 2024 shifts toward Republicans. Surveys from Pew, Third Way, and Yale indicate Democrats often lead overall young voters on the generic congressional ballot, yet men show narrower or Republican-leaning margins in some breakdowns, reflecting a persistent gender gap and elevated undecided shares near 30-38%. Turnout gaps, with young Republicans more likely to skip midterms, and subgroup splits by race and ideology further sustain uncertainty. Scheduled campaign activity on pocketbook issues through November could widen or close separations among this bloc.
