**Ronaldo’s focus on his Portugal national team situation and pursuit of career milestones has kept his public commentary centered on his own circumstances rather than Messi.** Messi’s emotional international farewell against Benin on October 6 drew widespread attention, yet Ronaldo’s detailed October 6 statement addressed his fallout with coach Jorge Jesus, benchings, and future with Portugal instead of referencing his rival. Ronaldo’s prior social media activity—such as a terse “Keep pushing” training post after Messi’s August retirement announcement and a supportive comment following the death of Messi’s father—has remained brief and non-specific. With Ronaldo, at 41, prioritizing his push toward 1,000 career goals and ongoing national-team role amid recent match absences, traders see little impetus for a dedicated post about Messi by the October 7 cutoff. The implied 86.5% probability for “No” reflects this pattern of parallel but separate narratives rather than direct engagement.
