**Rockstar Games' official June 2026 pricing announcement locked in the standard edition of GTA 6 at $79.99, with the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, directly resolving the market in favor of "No."** This confirmation followed months of speculation fueled by the game's massive development budget estimates and industry talk of a potential $100+ base price for major AAA titles. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two opted for an $80 standard tag—higher than the prior $70 norm but below the rumored ceiling—while offering premium extras in the $100 tier to capture additional revenue without raising the floor. Pre-orders opened immediately after the reveal, and subsequent coverage from outlets like IGN and industry analysts highlighted that the decision balanced recouping costs with broad accessibility ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. With the price now publicly set and pre-order data flowing, traders see virtually no path to a $100+ standard edition. Realistic upset scenarios remain narrow and low-probability: an unexpected last-minute price hike before launch (rare for confirmed digital releases) or a market resolution hinging on post-launch adjustments or a specific edition definition, though neither aligns with typical resolution criteria or Rockstar's stated structure. The overwhelming consensus reflects verified facts over prior rumors.
