Nominations for the 2026 VMAs Best Editing category, announced August 18, feature six music videos from major pop acts: Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me,” Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might,” LISA’s “Dream,” Madonna’s “Confessions II – The Film,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour,” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.” With the September 27 ceremony approaching and fan voting closing September 25, trader sentiment reflects a tightly contested technical category where editing craft, visual pacing, and overall video impact compete without dominant precursors. Madonna and Taylor Swift’s broader nomination leads add narrative weight, yet no single entry shows decisive guild or critic momentum, leaving room for late voter shifts driven by promotional pushes or last-minute engagement metrics.
