Recent polling aggregates show the Parti Québécois holding a narrow popular-vote lead near 29 percent ahead of the October 5 election, placing it on track for a plurality or minority of seats while leaving the official-opposition role open. The Parti libéral du Québec has stabilized or edged higher in the low-20s range in several late-September surveys, buoyed by strength among non-francophone and Montreal-area voters, giving it the clearest path to second place in seat totals. The incumbent Coalition Avenir Québec, now led by Christine Fréchette, has slipped to the low-20s and trails in most seat models after losing ground during the campaign. The Parti conservateur du Québec has narrowed the gap with the Liberals in raw vote share but remains behind in projected ridings. These patterns explain why traders assign the Liberals the highest probability for second place and keep the CAQ as the main alternative.
