Arsenal and Manchester City have opened the 2026-27 Premier League with perfect records after three matchweeks, reflecting their strong preseason positioning as the leading candidates for top-six finishes. Arsenal, the defending champions under Mikel Arteta, benefit from squad depth despite William Saliba’s extended back injury, while City have adapted quickly to Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are adjusting to new managers and major summer spending, including high-profile arrivals like Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson. Promoted sides such as Hull City have provided early surprises, but historical patterns and squad resources continue to favor the established clubs in the race for the top six.
