Mike Evans joined the San Francisco 49ers in free agency after 12 seasons with the Buccaneers, signing a three-year deal to serve as the WR1 in Kyle Shanahan’s pass-friendly offense alongside Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey. The 33-year-old missed significant time in 2025 with a hamstring injury and broken clavicle, ending his streak of 11 straight 1,000-yard seasons, but posted 6 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Rams. Minor camp ailments (groin, quad, adductor) have resolved, with Evans cleared and expected to benefit from a favorable target share while George Kittle recovers from Achilles surgery and Ricky Pearsall sits out the year. Durability at his age remains a key variable in projections for a full 17-game workload.
