This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player makes a field goal of more than 68 yards during the 2026-27 NFL regular season, thereby breaking the NFL record for the longest field goal made. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The NFL record for the longest field goal made is 68 yards, set by Cam Little in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL regular season. Matching the record exactly will not be sufficient; a player must make a field goal of 69 yards or longer for this market to resolve to "Yes". The field goal must be made; missed, blocked, and aborted attempts do not count. Only regular season games count. Playoff games, including Wild Card, Divisional, Conference Championship, and Pro Football Championship games, do not count. Preseason and postseason field goals do not count. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed games. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined whether any player made a field goal longer than 68 yards within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "50-50". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Recent trends in NFL kicking show a clear evolution toward greater distance and accuracy, creating a closely balanced market around the 68-yard record set by Cam Little in 2025.** Multiple kickers, including Little (with a 67-yarder later that season), Brandon Aubrey, and Chase McLaughlin, have converted from 65+ yards in regular-season play, while 2025 featured a record 12 makes from 60 yards or longer—far above historical norms. This surge stems from larger, more athletic specialists, specialized offseason training, and the K-Balls rule introduced around 2025, which lets teams break in footballs for improved compression and range (adding an estimated 5–10 yards for some). **At the same time, breaking 68 yards remains rare because such attempts require ideal conditions, precise execution under pressure, and coaching willingness to try them.** Preseason highlights like Harrison Butker’s unofficial 69-yarder in 2026 underscore the potential, yet regular-season variables—outdoor weather, wind, travel, and conservative play-calling—limit opportunities. The 2026-27 season begins with this momentum intact, but the bar is now higher than ever, and upsets or inconsistent long-range results could keep the record intact. **Trader consensus at 51.5% for “No” reflects this competitive tension between accelerating skill/technical gains and the inherent scarcity of record-breaking attempts.** Early-season performance by top long-range kickers, any rule adjustments affecting equipment or kickoffs, and the frequency of high-distance opportunities will likely drive the next meaningful shifts in implied probability.
