Mike Evans enters the 2026 NFL season with the San Francisco 49ers after signing a three-year deal in March, ending his long tenure with the Buccaneers. The 33-year-old wide receiver missed most of 2025 with a hamstring injury and broken clavicle, finishing with just 30 receptions. Multiple soft-tissue issues limited him in 2026 training camp, but he has been cleared of the injury report and is expected to start Week 1 against the Rams. In Kyle Shanahan’s pass-friendly scheme with Brock Purdy at quarterback, Evans projects as the primary target opposite a healthy Christian McCaffrey and returning George Kittle, though age, prior durability concerns, and competition for targets from the backfield and tight end could cap his regular-season reception total.
