The primary driver behind the 83% market-implied probability of “No” is the slow pace of Ontario’s criminal courts and the limited time remaining before the December 31, 2026 resolution cutoff. Justin Aguiar was charged with one count of sexual assault in November 2025 over an alleged August 2024 incident; his initial appearance occurred in January 2026, but no trial date has been set and Canadian sexual-assault cases frequently face multi-year delays or withdrawals. Prior charges against him from 2019 and 2023 were ultimately dropped, reinforcing trader caution. Additional public allegations surfaced in late 2025, yet none have produced a conviction, and Canadian conviction rates for reported sexual assaults remain low. With roughly three months left in the contract window, the absence of any imminent plea or verdict keeps the market heavily weighted toward “No.”
