Arsenal and Manchester City sit as the clear frontrunners for the top two Premier League places after both opened the 2026-27 season with three wins from three. The defending champions have continued their strong defensive record while addressing early injury issues, supported by squad continuity under Mikel Arteta. Manchester City have matched that start despite major summer upheaval, including Pep Guardiola’s departure and new signings like Elliot Anderson. Market pricing reflects their unmatched squad depth, historical title pedigree, and favorable early schedule compared with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United. A lengthy campaign leaves room for momentum shifts from injuries, fixture congestion, or mid-season form dips that could allow challengers to close the gap.
