DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 NFL season as the Philadelphia Eagles’ undisputed No. 1 wide receiver following A.J. Brown’s offseason trade to New England. As the focal point of a passing attack now coordinated by Sean Mannion, Smith projects for a significant increase in targets after posting 77 receptions for 1,008 yards and a career-low four touchdowns in 17 games during 2025. His recent hamstring issue limited early training camp work but showed signs of resolution with sideline participation ahead of Week 1, while the addition of rookies like Makai Lemon and veterans such as Marquise Brown adds depth without clear competition for the top option role. The Eagles’ run-first tendencies near the goal line and a favorable schedule against weaker pass defenses will shape his touchdown opportunities alongside overall volume gains.
