The September 20, 2026, Berlin state election remains highly competitive, with recent polling showing Die Linke under Elif Eralp and the CDU under Stefan Evers running nearly neck-and-neck for the largest share of seats in the Abgeordnetenhaus. Traders assign Eralp the highest implied probability of becoming the next Governing Mayor, reflecting her party's momentum and potential to lead a left-leaning coalition, while Evers trails amid the CDU's need for partners after incumbent Kai Wegner's withdrawal earlier in the summer. Werner Graf of the Greens and Steffen Krach of the SPD register lower odds, consistent with their parties' positioning in surveys. The outcome hinges on final vote shares and post-election coalition talks, with any late shifts in turnout or alliances capable of altering the result before the new senate is formed.
