Recent polls from Léger and Pallas Data show the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead in popular vote and seat projections ahead of the October 5 election, with the Coalition Avenir Québec rebounding into clear second place behind new leader Christine Fréchette. The CAQ has gained support among francophone voters outside Montreal, narrowing gaps in key ridings and positioning it ahead of the Quebec Liberal Party, which has lost ground since spring. Seat models from 338Canada and The Writ indicate the CAQ remains competitive in dozens of close contests with the PQ, supporting trader consensus on its second-place prospects while the Liberals and other parties trail in implied probabilities. Ongoing campaign events, including recent debates, have not shifted these patterns significantly in the past week.
