The Miami Dolphins enter the 2026 season in a full rebuild under new head coach Jeff Hafley and quarterback Malik Willis, already 0-2 after a lopsided Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers amid mounting wide receiver injuries and a brutal schedule. The New York Jets sit at 1-1 under Aaron Glenn with Geno Smith under center and key defensive additions like Minkah Fitzpatrick, showing modest early progress despite a Week 2 overtime defeat to Green Bay. Their two-game series features the Dolphins visiting MetLife Stadium on October 25 before hosting the return matchup on November 29. Trader consensus favoring a tie reflects the teams’ comparable projected mediocrity, recent Dolphins struggles, and balanced home/away split offsetting Miami’s historical edge in the rivalry.
