Jonathan Taylor enters the 2026 season as the clear lead back for the Indianapolis Colts following a 1,585-yard, 18-touchdown campaign in 2025 and a new two-year extension. With limited proven depth behind him, he projects for another heavy workload of 300-plus carries if the offense sustains drives and avoids negative game scripts. Quarterback Daniel Jones’ return from injury could improve efficiency and reduce stacked boxes compared to last season’s late collapse. The Colts face a challenging early schedule, including a Week 1 matchup against the Ravens, while Taylor’s prior ankle concerns and the physical demands of high volume remain variables. Recent training camp reports indicate he is fully healthy and positioned for a featured role.
