Cape Verde and Mali enter AFCON 2027 qualifying Group K as the clear frontrunners, with traders pricing their chances of topping the four-team section nearly even amid the opening matchdays. Cape Verde’s strong 2026 World Cup showing, including a round-of-32 finish after draws against Spain and Saudi Arabia, has lifted its implied probability to around 47 percent. Mali, ranked higher in recent FIFA standings and boasting greater depth in African competitions, sits close behind at roughly 39 percent. Rwanda and Liberia trail at 11 percent and 4 percent, respectively, reflecting limited recent international success. With six rounds of home-and-away fixtures scheduled through March 2027 and all sides starting on zero points, head-to-head results, squad availability, and early momentum will determine which of the two favorites claims the group win.
