Javokhir Sindarov's record 10/14 victory in the 2026 Candidates Tournament, clinched with a round to spare, combined with his continued elite results in classical and rapid events, has established him as the clear market favorite at 70%. The 20-year-old Uzbek grandmaster's peak FIDE rating near 2778 and strong showings in the Global Chess League, including recent wins over Viswanathan Anand and Alireza Firouzja, reflect superior recent form and momentum heading into the November Geneva title match. Defending champion Gukesh Dommaraju, at 29.5%, has faced a noticeable slump in 2026 tournaments with multiple subpar finishes and rating pressure, though his prior world championship experience remains a factor in the closely watched matchup between the two young grandmasters.
