Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas have dominated the 2026 WNBA assists race, finishing the regular season essentially tied at 8.4 assists per game with Clark posting 302 total assists in 36 games for the Indiana Fever and Thomas leading with 320 in 38 outings for the Phoenix Mercury. Thomas’s edge in volume and games played reflects her high-usage role as a versatile forward facilitating in the half-court, while Clark’s combination of elite scoring volume and playmaking has kept her in striking distance despite fewer appearances. The razor-thin margin has produced a trader consensus favoring Clark at 58.5% implied probability over Thomas at 35.5%, with all other candidates—including Jordin Canada, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young—trailing well behind at under 1%. Recent international play, including Clark’s record-setting 11-assist World Cup debut, has reinforced market positioning without altering the final regular-season ledger.
