This market will resolve to "Yes" if the team winning 1st place at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2026), currently scheduled for October 15 to November 14, 2026, is a Western team. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A Western team is a team that qualified for the tournament through the LEC (Europe / EMEA), the LCS (North America), or the CBLOL (Brazil). Teams that qualified through the LCK (South Korea), the LPL (China), or the LCP (Asia-Pacific) are not Western teams. If the winner of Worlds 2026 is not determined by November 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the tournament is canceled or postponed past that date, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, Riot Games, via the LoL Esports website (https://lolesports.com). However, a consensus of credible reporting (e.g., Liquipedia at https://liquipedia.net/leagueoflegends/World_Championship/2026) may also be used.**LCK and LPL squads maintain overwhelming regional dominance heading into Worlds 2026, with Elo ratings placing multiple Korean and Chinese teams well ahead of the field.** Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, and Bilibili Gaming sit atop power rankings after strong MSI and domestic splits, reflecting deeper talent pools, superior macro execution, and consistent adaptation to the current patch meta. Western representatives from the LEC and LCS, including G2 Esports, Karmine Corp, and LYON, have posted limited success in cross-regional play this year, with combined records against Eastern sides hovering around 30 percent or lower in recent international events. These structural gaps explain why traders price the chance of any Western winner at roughly 11.5 percent, aligning with historical patterns where no LEC or LCS team has claimed the Summoner’s Cup in nearly a decade. Late roster moves or bracket luck could create narrow paths, but the consensus views the East’s edge as durable through the Swiss and knockout stages.
