Malik Willis enters the 2026 season as the Miami Dolphins’ clear starting quarterback under new head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, following a three-year, $67.5 million contract signed in March. Through two games he has thrown for 417 yards on 29-of-50 attempts with one touchdown and one interception, averaging roughly 208 yards per outing amid a 0-2 start and heavy losses. The Dolphins’ inexperienced and injury-thinned receiving corps, combined with protection issues that produced nine sacks, have constrained passing volume and efficiency in the new scheme. Willis’s dual-threat background offers some rushing upside, but recent games show limited ground production. Upcoming matchups against strong defenses and the team’s overall offensive struggles will shape his attempts and yardage totals for the remainder of the 17-game schedule.
