The closely contested 52.8% market-implied odds against Elon Musk securing full custody of son Romulus reflect the unresolved New York Supreme Court proceedings, where Ashley St. Clair petitioned for sole custody in February 2025 and Musk announced his counter-filing in January 2026. Key balancing factors include St. Clair’s recent Venice Film Festival appearance in the Alex Gibney documentary “Musk,” where she detailed rejecting an alleged multimillion-dollar NDA offer tied to child support and alleged retaliation, contrasted with Musk’s denial of the offer and questions about her credibility. Ongoing attorney conferences through early September 2026 underscore active litigation without a final ruling. Upcoming catalysts that could shift sentiment decisively include any court status updates, settlement announcements, or verified developments on parental involvement and the child’s best interests.
