Lin Kuo-chang holds the leading position in the Yilan County magistrate race as the Democratic Progressive Party nominee, benefiting from unified party backing, established local legal practice, and volunteer roles in county government. Wu Tsung-hsien trails as the Kuomintang candidate after prevailing in an internal poll over Zhang Sheng-de, with support consolidated through a KMT-TPP alignment. Chen Wan-hui of the Taiwan People's Party and several independents register lower shares amid fragmented opposition votes. Recent candidate registration closed with five contenders, while opposition scrutiny of Lin's state enterprise board roles and local DPP factional tensions have surfaced without shifting core positioning ahead of the November 28 vote. Trader pricing reflects these structural advantages and limited late momentum for challengers.
