The pair has declined sharply from June highs above 1,550 as Korean exporters repatriate dollars more confidently and the Bank of Korea maintains a 3.00% policy rate that supports carry appeal. Key influences include the persistent Fed-BOK rate differential, global dollar index movements, and capital-account pressures from resident overseas investment. Traders monitor upcoming FOMC decisions, September CPI releases, and Bank of Korea guidance for shifts in implied rate paths that could alter the 1,300–1,400 range. Market-implied odds embed these supply-demand dynamics and external risk factors rather than deterministic forecasts.
