Recent polling in the Quebec election campaign, which opened in late August for the October 5 vote, shows the Parti Québécois holding a steady lead near 29 percent while the Coalition Avenir Québec has climbed into second place at 23–24 percent after gains among francophone voters. This shift has positioned the CAQ ahead of the Quebec Liberal Party, which has fallen to the low 20s following earlier declines. Key campaign dynamics include debate over a potential sovereignty referendum, U.S. tariffs, health-care restructuring, and regional vote splits that favor the CAQ in suburban and non-Montreal areas. Traders’ consensus reflects these vote-intention trends and seat-projection models, which indicate the CAQ is best placed among the trailing parties to finish second in seat count behind the PQ.
