Kyle Pitts enters the 2026 NFL season coming off career highs of 88 receptions and 928 yards in 2025, secured by a three-year contract extension signed in June. Early production has been hampered by Atlanta’s quarterback injuries, with Tua Tagovailoa (oblique) and Michael Penix Jr. (knee) sidelined for Week 1, forcing backup Cooper Rush into action and limiting Pitts to zero catches on one target. New head coach Kevin Stefanski’s scheme has historically emphasized tight ends, positioning Pitts as a key option behind Drake London and Bijan Robinson once the starting quarterback returns, likely by Week 2 against the Panthers. Pitts has shown strong preseason chemistry with Tagovailoa and remains fully participating despite a minor ankle designation, though overall volume will hinge on offensive line protection and target competition.
